This week's theme was designed to inspire people to share their passion with the world. While it may seem easy for some, others struggle to find their passion. There are people who have many passions, and others may be so entrenched in their day-to-day life that they have forgotten what excites them. Then there are obstacles... how do you photograph your passion? Maybe you love to read, or study the bible, or (like in my case) bring people together.
So, enjoy the photographs that were sent in this week...
In 1978, Major Lanquist at The Bolles School taught 10th grade Biology. During our study of plants he taught us how to create Bonsai in a special lab project. I have been passionate about them ever since! Photograph by Robin Anderson
When I have extra time I love walking on the beach and looking for shark's teeth. This clears my mind and soul. Can you find the shark's tooth? I've given a lot of sharks' teeth away to friends and visitors, even strangers on the beach...but here is my small cigar box that I started when I got married in 1993. Being the first generation born in the USA, I grew up without close cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. Then about 1978 my family started to migrate from the Philippines to Jacksonville...and mulitply. I'm not going to count the people in this photo, but I can tell you there are at least 20+ that are missing from this 2011 Christmas reunion with many many more in the Philippines.. I enjoy spending time with my family. Photograph by Grace Dorado-Foster
I love my dog, Keiichi (KAY-chee), our 2.5 year old shih tzu.
"A dog is the only creature on Earth that loves you more than himself" Photograph by Grace Dorado-FosterBefore I became an optometrist, I had worn glasses since 5th grade and had annual eye exams. This is for those of you who have always wanted to know what the other side of a phoropter looks like. Every lens, every dot, every line, every nob on top of nobs and every number means something to us. Photograph by Grace Dorado-Foster
