13 - Loneliness

"The state of being unfrequented by human beings; as, the loneliness of a road. ...Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty". ~Unknown

The concept of "loneliness" is not an easy subject to capture with the camera.  I think this blog is proof that all creatures (big and small) were meant to congregate.

I am very impressed with everyone's submissions.  Enjoy!

This photo was taken outside the Vatican in Rome.  You could tell she was probably homeless and begging for money, but she never looked up.  She remained in that praying position.  It really stuck me, it was sad, yet beautiful at the same time, which is why I took a picture of her.  Photograph by Laney Griffin Robinson

I always feel lonely when I see a monkey in a cage at the zoo.  They seem so bored.  Photograph by Robin Anderson

I drive past this wooded area everyday.  This past Fall, I saw this lonely little tree that hung on to its leaves longer than the rest of the trees around it.  Photograph by Robin Anderson
